0% Alcohol...100% FUN!

Whistler's First Night is the legendary come one come all New Year's Eve Celebration that takes over Whistler's pedestrian only Village Stroll and the TELUS Conference Center to say goodbye to the old and to welcome the new. The 18 th annual alcohol-free evening promotes a "Celebration of the Arts" and this year's program promises new, fun and fresh ideas, featuring an inspiring program of great live music, art workshops and street entertainment for people of all ages. This showcasing of talented musicians, actors and comedians as well as the creativity of local artists blends into a fun and exciting mix of performing and participatory arts.

The lively energy that is First Night gets underway @ 6pm on December 31st which leaves enough time to explore and experience the celebration in its entirety before the new year is upon us. First Night promotes the "family friendly message" and is proudly an alcohol-free evening. Whistler Village's perimeter is secured and for the nominal entry fee of $15 adults/ $5 - 12 years and under, Whistler provides a safe, secure and creative alternative to alcohol-based New Year's celebrations.

Keeping in line with the "there's something for everyone" theme, First Night offers a 9:30pm countdown for the younger participants in the crowd that can't quite last until the actual stroke of midnight.

Of course a New Year's celebration cannot exist without fireworks! Locals and visitors alike ring in the New Year sound-tracked by live performances on two stages and memorable fireworks display lighting up the mountains.
