  1. Q: What time does First Night run?
    A: First Night runs from 6:00pm through to midnight on December 31.


  2. Q: Do I need a ticket to attend?
    A: Yes, in order to enter the gated activity areas of First Night and participate in the arts programs you will require a ticket.


  3. Q: How much do tickets costs?
    A: Tickets are $15 for adults (age 13 and up). Kids tickets are $8 each (age 3 to 12). Children 2 and under are free and do not require a tickets. All children must be accompanied by an adult.


  4. Q: Where does the event take place
    A: First Night takes place in Whistler Village with primary venues being Village Square and TELUS Conference Centre.


  5. Q: Is there free transit to First Night?
    A: Yes, the most efficient way to get to First Night is via Whistler Transit bus service. Bus service is FREE on Dec. 31 from 6:00pm to 3:30am. Please note that transit service is suspended from 11pm - 12am.


  6. Q: What happens at the event?
    A: First Night is an alcohol-free Celebration of the Arts. The event is a fun and exciting mix of performing and participatory arts. First Night shows off the talents of Canadian musicians, actors and comedians as well as the arts and crafts creativity of local artists.
     

  7. Q: Is there anything for my teenager to do?
    A: First Night is an event for all ages. We offer programs and entertainment strictly for teenagers, featuring music, DJ's, talent contests and really cool décor.


  8. Q: What does alcohol-free and zero-tolerance mean?
    A: First Night does not allow alcohol or guests who are intoxicated onto the event site. It is a safe, secure and creative alternative to alcohol-based New Year's celebrations. Those traditional celebrations are available in Whistler too - find out about them by visiting www.whistler.com. Zero-tolerance means that guests who attempt to enter First Night with alcohol will have their liquor confiscated and may be subject to arrest.
